Brighton boss Gus Poyet says it's too easy for England to blame their national team woes on foreigners.
The cynicism and negativity that has surrounded the English game since the calamity of the World Cup is misguided, believes Poyet. And some of the other excuses offered for our failure are even more head in the sand.
Former Chelsea and Tottenham star Poyet said: "People in England take the easy way. They blame the foreigners in this country as an excuse for football's problems. I don't know how many foreigners you have in the average Under-10 team in England? Probably none. How many in the Under-14s?
"So why is it my responsibility that, when a player comes to the first team at 18 or 19, he can't pass the ball 10 yards? It's my fault as a foreigner? I'm responsible for that? That is too easy."
