Spurs hero Klinsmann jumps to defence of Levy

Tottenham hero Jurgen Klinsmann has jumped to the defence of chairman Daniel Levy.

Furious supporters have vented their anger at Levy since Sunday's 2-1 home defeat by Stoke with many believing he must step down in order for the club to progress.

"They are doing a fantastic job," the United States coach told the London Evening Standard. "In the last few years, Tottenham have qualified for the Champions League and they are consistently in the Europa League.

"They have built a fantastic new training ground and when you do things like that, you have a long term picture in mind. They are doing well in the Europa League and while they have lost a bit of ground in the Premier League, it will go in the right direction.

"A new manager (Mauricio Pochettino) has come in and he needs the time to put his stamp on the team so there will be a few ups and downs, which are happening right now. But it's a lot of fun looking at Tottenham from the outside and I'm always keeping my fingers crossed."
