Former Tottenham playmaker Micky Hazard has no doubts David Beckham will make an impact at White Hart Lane. Spurs hope to have his loan deal from LA Galaxy finalised in time for next week's clash with Manchester United.
"I've always thought he was a fantastic footballer," Hazard told talkSPORT.
"I know he's a bit old now but what you've got to remember is Spurs have never climbed that mountain and won the title - Beckham has.
"He brings into the club the experience of having gone the distance and when you're in there fighting to challenge for the title the more players you have with the experience of winning it then the better it is for the best of the players.
"There's so many spin-offs from bringing David Beckham to Spurs you cannot say no to this guy. Number one not forgetting what a good player he is. He's not going to be playing wide right and hitting those wonderful crosses in but I see him just sitting in front of the back four where you don't need so much legs and making the play from there.
"He's a wonderful passer and when you've got Bale and Lennon on both flanks imagine them getting on the end of his passes - amazing.
"It isn't just a signing to make commercial profits, to bring publicity to the club, it's a signing to help us challenge if not win the title. And I for one think he's still got it in him."
