Tottenham are ready to make Gareth Bale one of the highest paid players in England. The Mirror says Tottenham are confident Bale will commit his future to the club next month - by signing a stunning new deal that will pay him £170,000-a-week.

Bale, the £60million-rated new triple Player of the Year, remains in the sights of Real Madrid, while new Manchester United boss David Moyes is also tipped to enter the bidding this summer.

But Bale, already under contract at the White Hart Lane club until 2016, is expected to add another year to that deal AND have his wages almost doubled by chairman Daniel Levy.
