Everton are expected to have a clear run at Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari.
The Daily Mail says David Moyes is looking for a combative player to line up alongside creative stars such as Tim Cahill, Mikel Arteta, Steven Pienaar and Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.
Tottenham showed interest in former Portsmouth player Muntari but have since wrapped up a deal to take Brazil international Sandro from Internacional.
Muntari, 25, has struggled at the San Siro this season, often being deployed out of position by boss Jose Mourinho.
The Ghana international has started just 15 of Inter's 33 Serie A matches and fell further down the pecking order with the signing of McDonald Mariga from Parma in January.
