Tottenham fullback Pascal Chimbonda has defended Didier Zokora after his dismissal in Tuesday's Carling Cup victory at Manchester City.

Victory at Eastlands put Spurs into the semi-finals - but they were furious at Zokora's red card for a tackle on Elano.

"I don't think the referee made a good decision. Didier is not a dirty player," said Chimbonda.

Spurs have appealed and will find out tomorrow if the Football Association will overturn Steve Bennett's decision.

"Tottenham have submitted a claim for wrongful dismissal in relation to the sending-off of Didier Zokora for serious foul play against Manchester City in last night's Carling Cup tie," confirmed a statement from the FA.
