Tottenham fullback Adam Smith says England have great motivation going into the U21 Euros.

Smith helped Stuart Pearce's kids book their place there with a play-off win over Serbia.

The second leg in Krusevac will be remembered for some of the worst scenes ever witnessed at a football match.

Smith, who spent most of last season on loan at Millwall, said: "It was probably my worst experience at a football match.

"But for all of us to be in it together, it strangely felt good afterwards.

"People had each other's backs. We've taken the confidence and togetherness from that horrible night to move forward.

"Now we all want to go forward together and finish this job off."
