Benoit Assou-Ekotto insists Luka Modric retains the support of his Tottenham teammates.
Assou-Ekotto laughed when asked if he believed Modric had lost the dressing room for wanting to join Chelsea.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: "Certainly not. We are behind him. We understand.
"It is about wages, his future, his living. It is not about passion. We only have ten years in the game.
"If Spurs want to keep Luka then pay him more. Simple.
"If Chelsea offered £200million I am sure someone from the club would get on the bus and drive him there.
"We don't play for a red shirt, a white shirt. We play for ourselves. I think fans know that.
"Kissing a badge is kissing money. Saying that I would love to stay at Spurs forever and give my all, that is down to the chairman."
