Tottenham have been encouraged in their pursuit of Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi.

The youngster is being lined up as a replacement at Spurs for Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Sunday Mirror says the French club are determined to keep the highly-rated Belgian after losing Andre Pierre Gignac to Mexican club Tigres.

But Batshuayi is understood to be considering his options after a string of Marseille's players - including Andre Ayew, Dimitri Payet and star striker Gignac - were allowed to move on.
