The London Evening Standard says Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen enjoyed success working with De Boer at Ajax.
Vertonghen, unsettled under Tim Sherwood and thought to be considering his future, is believed still to be in sporadic contact with De Boer and would welcome his arrival.
Eriksen, the club's best outfield player this season, is said to be of a similar mind.
