Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld has shrugged off PFA recognition.
Mauricio Pochettino's men have conceded just 26 goals this term and both Danny Rose and Alderweireld were recognised for their contribution to Tottenham's season with a place in the PFA Team of the Year last month.
But the Belgium international, who spent a season on loan at Southampton from Atletico Madrid before securing a £11.5m switch to Tottenham last summer, takes more pleasure from the way he has taken to the top flight.
“I'm not a player who needs recognition if I'm honest," Alderweireld told Het Laatsete Nieuws.
“It's nice to hear those compliments, it makes you feel good, but I don't get a kick from praise - if you know what I mean.
"I'm happier that I have played two good seasons in a row in England. That's something to be proud of."
