Tottenham coaches Tim Sherwood and Les Ferdinand are in the frame for the Swindon Town job.
The London Evening Standard says Ferdinand tops a strong list of candidates while Spurs head of football development, Sherwood, is also being touted among those most likely to take the reins at the County Ground.
Kevin MacDonald left the club by mutual consent on Saturday, following a five-month period that saw the Robins fall out of automatic promotion contention and stumble at the semi-final stage of the League One play-offs.
Chris Ramsey, who had a playing stint with Swindon in the 1980s, has also been installed as a surprise contender for the role.
