Tottenham boss Juande Ramos insists he will only buy quality this January.

Ramos accepts that he may have to bring in new faces if anyone departs, but otherwise he is not planning to recruit any reinforcements without careful consideration.

"It all depends on the players who might leave, because if a player leaves we will have to cover that gap," he explained to Sky Sports News.

"Or, if there is a position where we want to improve, we will look at the transfer market if it is possible.

"But only when we are convinced that what we are bringing in is an improvement on what we have already got, will we go forward."
