Spurs chiefs convinced they've moved on from Alderweireld

Tottenham management are ready to sell Toby Alderweireld this summer.

The London Evening Standard says Tottenham may consider offers for Alderweireld but are confident they will keep all the players they wish to retain.

The Belgian was left out of the squad for the 1-0 win over Arsenal and the 2-2 draw with Juventus and, while Mauricio Pochettino insists his decision was solely fitness-related, there are other issues that make this a delicate situation.

Pochettino said in Turin that Alderweireld's damaged hamstring, sustained in November, was “a massive injury", but Alderweireld has felt for some time he is fit to play and is frustrated at being kept out of the big games.

Alderweireld had a two-hour meeting with Pochettino last week. But there is now a feeling inside the boardroom that they can move forward without the defender.
