Tottenham are monitoring Simon Vukcevic's situation at Sporting Lisbon.

The Mirror says the 22-year-old is determined to get his career back on track after falling out of favour with coach Paulo Bento and plans to ask for a transfer.

Spurs coach Juande Ramos is desperate to strengthen his forward line, while Bolton were interested in bringing Vukcevic to the Reebok Stadium during the summer.

Vukcevic said: "I've already decided I'll leave in December. This is a very difficult situation for me and I'm going to ask the club if I can leave in the winter.

"I know English clubs were interested in me during the summer but nothing happened. My agent will have to act now."
