Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants at least £400 million for the club.
Levy would sell up at the right price, provided he receives assurances the future of the club is in safe hands.
But the Spurs chairman wants about £150m more than Peddie, president and chief executive of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, is understood to be ready to offer.
Levy believes the value of the club's playing staff and the potential extra revenue which a new stadium would generate justifies his asking price.
