Spurs chairman Levy trumps dithering Arsenal for QPR scout Broomfield

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has trumped Arsenal with the capture of scout Ian Broomfield.

The Sunday Express says Broomfield, who was working for manager Harry Redknapp at QPR, was all set to join the Gunners' scouting department under Steve Rowley.

In fact, Broomfield had been allocated a ticket for Arsenal's Champions League tie at Bayern Munich this Wednesday.

But Levy, who enjoyed a good working relationship with Broomfield when Redknapp brought him to White Hart Lane during his time as Spurs boss, moved quickly to scupper Arsenal's plans.

When he learned that Broomfield had agreed the move to Arsenal verbally but not in writing, Levy moved in to offer the super-spy a lucrative contract at his club.
