Tottenham have slapped a £20 million price-tag on striker Jermain Defoe. The Mirror says Tottenham supremo Daniel Levy will ask Liverpool to pay a staggering £20million for Defoe.

Defoe has emerged as a shock target for the Reds, who are looking for a new signing to solve his goalscoring problems.

However, insiders close to the deal reveal that hard-bargaining Levy is looking for twice the £10m fee being mentioned on Merseyside as Defoe is rated much higher in the current market.
