Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has been quoted £22 million for Marseille striker Loic Remy.
The Mirror says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has opened negotiations with Marseille, despite the French side's qualification for the knock-out stages of the Champions League.
Remy has been on Redknapp's radar for 18 months and a deal looked likely until they surprisingly qualified for the last 16 of Europe's money-spinning competition.
Now, Spurs are offering Russia striker Roman Pavlyuchenko plus £7m for Remy - valuing their unwanted hitman at a staggering £15m.
Marseille will sell former Nice forward Remy if the money is right, but they would rather have straight cash so they can recruit a replacement of their own choosing.
