Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was unhappy with the praise going Harry Redknapp's way over the success of his signings, it has been revealed.
Levy sacked Redknapp last week.
A Spurs source told the Mirror: "Everybody connected with the club knows Harry's done a great job. The way he turned around the place when we were floundering at the bottom of the table was miraculous.
"Harry got a lot of praise for that as well as the way he's transformed the on-field fortunes of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric.
"Of course, he didn't sign those players, but you can't doubt the confidence and platform he gave them.
"Chairman Daniel Levy signed those two and maybe didn't like the fact that he didn't get too much praise for their development.
"But the fact is they only really blossomed under Harry's management."
