Tottenham are eager to speak with sacked Manchester United boss David Moyes.

The Mail on Sunday says Spurs had believed they had secured United-bound Louis van Gaal.

Moyes is seen by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy as the ideal manager to take the club forward while operating within a tight budget - as he did successfully at Everton - during a period when they rebuild their ground.
