Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is chasing Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra.
The People says White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy has promised Redknapp that money from any sale this month can be used to sign Diarra.
The Frenchman, 25, has been touted around the Premier League for several months, after Real boss Jose Mourinho let it be known he was surplus to requirements.
Diarra was left out of Real's squad for the draw with Almeria yesterday.
