Tottenham captain Ledley King admits they missed the creativity of Luka Modric in yesterday's defeat to Everton.
King said: "It is up to us to do more and to have more imagination to open teams up. We played too much direct football against Everton.
"We miss Luka Modric, because that is what he is all about. When you give him the ball in the final third, he makes things happen and we hope he is back for our next game [at Watford in the Carling Cup on Wednesday].
"Every time we lose a game, it is a wake-up call for us and a reminder of how much work there is still to be done. We went on a really good run but we have not really gone too far up the table.
"In games like yesterday's, good teams grind out a 0-0 draw and take a point. But we switched off for a split second, which cost us, and we are disappointed with that."
