Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood has slammed the club's transfer policy.

He admits big money flops Erik Lamela and Etienne Capoue won't kick a ball again this season.

Sherwood said: "Lamela is about and he is making progress.

"He had some treatment from (his old club) Roma's physios and our guys and been pretty much everywhere to try and get it sorted.

"He is probably not going to play this season. He has been out a very long time and is going to need a pre-season before he can play.

"I am not sure how far Capoue is away but it is very doubtful whether he will play between now and the end of the season."
