Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp can see Avram Grant taking over at Portsmouth.

The club announced on Tuesday night that they intend to move "very quickly" to appoint their next boss, and director of football Grant will be an outstanding candidate if he wants the job.

Redknapp told Sky Sports: "Avram's there and he worked with me there. He's managed Chelsea. I'd be surprised if he didn't end up taking it.

"It's a good opportunity for him to get back into management. But I don't know, only he'd know what he wants to do.

"He would be my choice if anyone was to take it."
