Spurs' boss Redknapp thinks UEFA competition is too long

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp thinks the set up of the UEFA Cup draw makes for a competition that runs too long.

"I keep thinking that it's more games," he said. "Everyone wants to be in this competition - half of them want to get out of it.

"With three teams going through from five in the group, it's difficult not to qualify. I prefer the knockout over two legs and this drags it out.

"We want to keep winning but league points are so important and we have a massive game at Watford in the Carling Cup as well."
