Spurs boss Redknapp rules out James, Foster bids

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes it will be difficult to land a new goalkeeper in January.

Tottenham have been linked with Watford's England Under-21 keeper Scott Loach as well as Portsmouth's David James and Ben Foster, of Manchester United.

"People have talked about James and Foster but they are going to want to play and Gomes has been brilliant this season," said Redknapp, who was keen to sign James from Portsmouth last summer.

"It is a difficult situation because if Gomes gets injured, we need someone who can come in and do the job. It's no good putting someone in just to give them experience."
