Tottenham youngster John Bostock could be given a debut by Harry Redknapp in tonight's UEFA Cup clash with Dinamo Zagreb.
"He's on the bench and I'd love to get him on the pitch," Redknapp said. "He's only 16, a kid with terrific talent and a lovely left foot."
Bostock was controversially signed in the summer in a deal that could cost more than £2million, leaving Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan furious. The 16-year-old has been billed as one of the brightest prospects in England.
"He is a special young player with terrific ability, how far he goes is up to him," Redknapp added.
"With all young players it will be up to them how hard they want to work at their game.
"I'd love to get some of the youth team into the first team, that is the long-term aim.
"(Steve) Perryman and (Glenn) Hoddle were fantastic, so let's hope there are a few more coming out of this youth team now."
