Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is delighted seeing Rafael van der Vaart and Gareth Bale win nominations for the PFA Player of the Year award.
Bale is up for both the Young Player and Players' Player while Van der Vaart makes it two Spurs players on the seven-player shortlist for the Players' Player.
Redknapp told the Spurs website: "Gareth had an amazing first half of the season, longer than that.
"He was in great form. He just picked up a bit of an injury but he's been amazing.
"He's improved and just got better and better. In all honesty, for me, he would win the award. He would be my choice out of all the players in the country. I think he deserves it this year.
"Rafa has had a fantastic start to his career at Tottenham.
"The last few weeks haven't gone so well for him and he's been unlucky with a few injuries that set him back. He's had a huge impact and again, he's had a great season. He wouldn't be far away from winning it either.
"There are a few good candidates but I would think Gareth will take some beating."
