Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says he always knew Frank Lampard would become a star.
Redknapp worked with the Chelsea midfielder at West Ham United and said: "He was always destined to be a top player. I have never seen anyone train harder, except perhaps his dad. You can have all the great facilities but it has to be the player who wants to get to the top. It's the desire within them that counts.
"All those times you see him smash the ball in from 28 yards is no coincidence. He'd practise it day in, day out. Frank wasn't a great athlete at 17, but he'd put his spikes on after training and do his sprints, go out running on the streets at night ."
