Tottenham boss Juande Ramos has hailed the Premiership as the best competition in the world.

He said: "Now I am here, I can see this potential more closely and I would have to say that the English teams are very superior in European football this season.

"Four English teams taking part [in the quarter-finals] will be thrilling. Some years ago Spanish football managed to dominate the final [Valencia-Real Madrid in 2000] and this time I'm convinced that it could be an English duo fighting for the Cup.

"English football has at last been able to show the Continent it is on form and is demonstrating its quality nowadays."
