Spurs boss Ramos: Players showed passion

Tottenham bounced back in the best possible way after the 4-1 mauling at home last week to Newcastle with a deserved point in a 1-1 draw at Blackburn.

Dominant for long periods they only scored the once through Dimitar Berbatov early in the first half and should have made the game safe in this first 45 minutes but for all their creative play they lacked an incisive finish.

They paid the price for this profligacy when Morten Gamst Pedersen got on the end of a David Bentley cross to fire home the equaliser on the half hour mark.

The game was more even in the second half as a typical end of season display unfolded.

Tottenham have still to win in seven visits to the North West but at least they shared the spoils despite a penalty shout from David Bentley and a flurry of late attacking from the home side.

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos admitted his team should have taken advantage of their first half dominance.

"Football is all about taking your chances and we had many opportunities in the first half but failed to take them.

"Once they had equalised the game became more even in the second half and a draw looked a likely result long before the end."

On the first half spat between Robbie Keane and Berbatov following the breakdown of a Tottenham move, Ramos was quite relaxed.

"Football is all about passion and its good to see players wanting to do well; you expect these things to happen."
