Tottenham boss Juande Ramos admitted some relief after last night's 2-1 UEFA Cup first-leg victory over Wisla Krakow.
Darren Bent headed a winner 17 minutes from full-time to earn a 2-1 lead to take to Poland in a fortnight, with Tomas Jirsak cancelling out David Bentley's opener in the first half.
Spurs had lost three and drawn another of their first four games of the campaign in a run of results that left them bottom of the Barclays Premier League, although their poor form dates back to matches after the Carling Cup victory in February.
"Obviously I'm relieved," Ramos said. "We were in a bit of a bad run of results and we needed a win in order to give confidence and calmness to the team.
"Let's just hope that this will start a positive run leading to better results.
"I wanted obviously to get more than a one-goal advantage but it wasn't to be.
"The tie is very evenly balanced. The goal gives us a little bit of an advantage which will be important, and it will be a difficult game in Poland."
