Spurs boss Ramos not looking for player battles

New Tottenham boss Juande Ramos insists he's not seeking to bomb out any of his squad.

Ramos, who built an impressive reputation with Sevilla, has been brought in to turn things around but he does not intend to charge into White Hart Lane all guns blazing.

And despite being labelled as something of a disciplinarian Ramos intends to build bridges not burn them.

"I maintain a friendship with players in all of the teams I have been in. I think that's important," said the former Betis, Espanyol and Malaga coach.

In an interview with free Spanish newspaper Metro, Ramos claimed coaching in England meant more than winning the Champions League or the World Cup.

"Sincerely, the English league has always been my dream and coaching in England is the realisation of that dream," he said.

He identified Arsenal's Arsene Wenger as the manager he most admires.

"If I had to pick one coach it would be Wenger," he said.
