Spurs boss Ramos convinced Pavlyuchenko will be success

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is convinced his new £13.8 million signing Roman Pavlyuchenko will be a Premiership hit.

Pavlyuchenko sealed a £13.8m move from Spartak Moscow, with the Spurs boss hoping he will inherit Dimitar Berbatov's mantle.

Spaniard Ramos said: "We hope he can adapt as soon as possible and we're going to help Roman as much as possible. I'm going to teach him English.

"I think football has an international language. I'm sure he will be extremely comfortable here. Roman is almost a complete footballer. He can do different jobs - play with his back to goal, win it in the air.

"Our job is to make sure he can achieve the same level at Tottenham as he demonstrated at Euro 2008 with Russia."

Ramos also paid £8.5m yesterday for versatile defender Vedran Corluka from Manchester City.

Ramos said: "It's a great signing because he can play in a variety of positions. He will give us lots of solutions."
