Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is willing to go to £20 million for Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez.
The Mirror says Pochettino has been asking for regular fitness updates on the Southampton forward as he prepares to make a push to sign him in the next window.
Rodriguez was on Pochettino's hit-list in the summer, despite a serious knee injury which kept him out of England's World Cup squad.
Southampton refused to sell the 25-year-old then, and their superb start to the season will leave them convinced that they can keep their best players.
But Pochettino is desperate to bring in a big signing in January to inject some pace and excitement into his team.
