Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is full of praise for the character of Hugo Lloris.
Pochettino said the French skipper gave him the thumbs up that he was OK to play before he even had time to ask.
Lloris spent the night in the Stade de France dressing rooms with the rest of the players involved in the France v Germany game in the wake of the attacks on the stadium last Friday.
He then played for his country at an emotion-charged Wembley on Tuesday.
Pochettino said: "I didn't need to ask because when he saw me, he said I want to play. I didn't even need to ask.
"It was very difficult for him and for all of the French players, and the English players, too.
"They were here training on Monday morning and you could feel that they were very sad to play.
"In the moment it happened we crossed messages. We always try to back them and give support.
"You try to share the moment, to speak and to offer support.
"We are human and sometimes you don't need words, you only need to touch the people and give them a hug."
