Spurs boss Pochettino slams 'sad' and 'disrespectful' Guardiola: We're laughing at you!

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has launched a withering attack on Manchester City rival Pep Guardiola.

Pochettino branded Guardiola “disrespectful and sad" and made himself a laughing stock after suggesting Tottenham were a one man team.

Manchester City boss Guardiola clearly incensed Pochettino by calling Spurs the “Harry Kane team" in a patronising remark about their title rivals.

Pochettino said: “It was a sad comment. It was disrespectful for many, many people and many people found his words disrespectful.

“It's sad, it's a comment which is not right in football. It showed no respect. The players were laughing about it.

“He is a great manager, he is one of the best managers in the world, so why does he say that? It's not good for him.

“It was disrespectful. He had great success at Barcelona, many people said it was because it was because if Messi but he did not say that and I never believed that.

“Sometimes it's difficult. With the media, there's a temptation to recognise an indiividual. Kempes in 78, Maradona in 86, the Dream Team with Cruyff. But it's never like that. The team is always very important."
