Spurs boss Pochettino hails 'fantastic' 5-4 win over Leicester

Tottenham and Leicester City served up a nine goal thriller to sign off the season in style.

Leicester strikerJamie Vardy put the visitors in front in the fourth minute by converting a Riyad Mahrez cross. But Kane equalised four minutes after being released on goal by Lucas.

Mahrez restored Leicester's lead in the 16th minute, and Iheanacho rifled Leicester further in front from 20 yards in the 47th minute, but just two minutes later Spurs were back in it again as Erik Lamela tapped home following a fine move.

And Tottenham were level in the 53rd minute when Lamela's deflected effort found the net, before Lamela completed the Spurs comeback by tapping home after combining with Kyle Walker-Peters.

Vardy made it 4-4 after being set up by Mahrez, but Kane put Tottenham back in front a 5-4 with a stunning individual effort.

"It was a fantastic game," said Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino. "Football! It was exciting, 5-4 - a little disappointed we conceded four but I'm so happy to win.

"It was against a team that came here to play with freedom and in the end it's a relief to win an exciting game.

"We showed real character one more time.

"Erik Lamela, fantastic for him and of course Harry, congratulations to him as well.

"I'm very happy for the fans as well, it's been a massive effort for them as well. I say 'thank-you' to them all and it's fantastic to finish the season with a place in the Champions League, a huge achievement."
