Tottenham boss Martin Jol is backing Dimitar Berbatov to have an even bigger season this term.

He has set his Bulgarian striker a target of 50 per cent more goals to shoot Spurs into the Champions League.

"I feel Berbatov has got all the talent and the skill," said Jol. "Last season he really only started scoring goals for us after Christmas, and he also did that with Bayer Leverkusen.

"So I've told him it will be better if he can start scoring before Christmas, that is what we need, and maybe then he can get 18 goals in the Premiership."
