Spurs attacker Gudjohnsen irked by West Ham claims

Tottenham striker Eidur Gudjohnsen admits he's upset over complaints from West Ham United after choosing to move to White Hart Lane in January.

The Icelandic international came within a medical of moving to Upton Park before opting for Spurs on deciding to quit Monaco.

West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola, Gudjohnsen’s former Chelsea team-mate, revealed a rare show of anger at the situation.

Putting the record straight, Gudjohnsen told the Mirror: “Its true that I initially thought I was going to sign for West Ham but then two good opportunities presented themselves.

“Gianfranco and I go back a long way and it was a bit of an awkward situation. I feel disappointed to have let him down but I still have great respect for the man.”
