Tottenham boss Juande Ramos has asked Real Madrid to name their price for Ruud van Nistelrooy.

In a sure sign of Ramos' ambitions for the new season, Marca says he made contact with Real directors this week to sound out the possibility of bringing the Dutchman back to England.

Ramos is willing to put on the table £16 million for Van Nistelrooy, though he received a cool response from Real.
