Spurs approach Elfsborg for keeper Wiland

IF Elfsborg goalkeeper Johan Wiland has attracted an approach from Tottenham.

The 27-year-old has been with Elfsborg since 1997 and has been the club's first-choice between the posts since 2001.

He has earned three caps and is ranked as No 3 in Sweden after Andreas Isaksson and Rami Shaaban.

Wiland told Boras Tidning: "It's truly fun that they get in touch - it's flattering.

"I have got a long-term contract with Elfsborg and I am not in a hurry to leave. If something serious happens, I will get to know that."

Agent Johan Svensson confirmed that Spurs had been in touch.

"They called and enquired. They asked about Johan's situation at Elfsborg," he said.
