Spurs ace Lamela casting River Plate thoughts to the side

Tottenham Hotspur attacker Erik Lamela is not thinking about making a return to River Plate just yet.

It is no secret that Lamela is keen on making a return to his boyhood club in the future and there has been a lot of speculation regarding the 24-year-old potentially making the switch over the past few transfer windows.

However, former Roma ace Lamela has gone on to play down such rumours by stating that he is currently very happy at White Hart Lane and is not thinking returning to his native Argentina at the present time.

"You always have the desire to go back, but I'm also aware that I'm 24 and I'm fine where I am," Lamela told La Pagina Millonaria.

"It's a bit difficult to go back now, as I still have many years of contract at Tottenham and I have my head there. I only think of what is coming at Tottenham.

"Time goes by so fast, it seemed like yesterday I was playing for River.

"I've been in Europe for several years, I'm trying to enjoy every moment because the career is not very long, and I'm enjoying the English football, which I like a lot."
