Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe wants Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney to play tonight.
Defoe - whose hat-trick helped sink Bulgaria 4-0 on Friday - hopes England coach Fabio Capello was so impressed with his partnership with Rooney that the Italian sticks with the duo throughout the Euro 2010 campaign.
The Tottenham striker said: "Wayne was involved in all my goals and he is a great player.
"The role that he played just behind me worked really well.
"We can both get on the ball and affect the game. It was fantastic against Bulgaria.
"Hopefully I have done enough to cement my place in the side. I just want to keep getting in the position where I can score.
"I am playing with great players and know I am going to get those opportunities to score. It is just a case of me taking those chances."
