Tottenham star Gareth Bale had mixed fortunes after hitting the winner against former club Southampton.

He admitted to having split loyalties - and is confident his old side can secure their Premier League status.

He said: "I was there from the age of nine to 17, so it's a club close to my heart and I still have a lot of friends there.

"It's a big season for them. I was hoping they would stay up and it looks like they are going to do that now."
