Christian Benteke faces a fine if he fails to front up to Aston Villa training this Thursday.

The Daily Mail says Benteke will be fined £20,000 if he fails to turn up for training at Aston Villa on Thursday.

The Belgium striker is due to return to the club following an extended leave of absence and Villa are awaiting a £20million bid from Tottenham.

Manager Paul Lambert is expecting his 19-goal forward, who took no part in the pre-season tour of Germany, to return to Villa Park after the player rocked the Birmingham club with a transfer request last week.
