Sporting Lisbon star Veloso explains rejecting Genoa
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso has turned down a move to Genoa.
Genoa made a bid to land the highly-rated midfielder, but he felt it wasn’t the right time to leave his homeland.
“There was truth in the contact with Genoa, but I rejected it,” he told Calcio News 24.
“Why? It was simple really – I just love playing for Sporting right now and at the present I only want to think of my current club.”
Veloso added: “I will evaluate all future offers from foreign clubs, provided they are from top clubs.”
