Southampton are eyeing a move for Sporting Lisbon defender Ruben Semedo, according to Portuguese publication A Bola.

The report states that the Saints have scouted the 22-year-old Portuguese on various occasions in the past season and have been thoroughly impressed by his performances.

Saints manager Ronald Koeman is aiming to bolster his squad for next season's Europa League campaign and Semedo is believed to be one of their early summer targets as they look to shore up their defence.
