Sporting Lisbon defender Eric Dier has no regrets over his time at Everton.

Dier is back at Sporting after a season on-loan at Goodison Park.

"The loan ended and I returned to Sporting Lisbon in order to earn a spot in the B Team and to try impress Ricardo Sa Pinto, the coach of the senior team," said Dier.

"Some people thought I was unhappy (at Everton), but the truth is that I was not expecting to play. I knew what my role was at Everton and it was a very positive experience for me."
